Nanjing Road in Shanghai

Nanjing Road (Nanjing Dong Lu) is the most famous street in Shanghai China.  Dating back to the colonial period, it was the main arterial road through the International Settlement.

This busy pedestrian promenade comes alive after dark with colorful neon lights.

A number of historical building from the colonial period still remain on Nanjing Road.  The most interesting portion of Nanjing Road runs from the Bund to the north side of People's Park.

The closest metro stations to this area are the Nanjing Road East and the People's Square metro stations (Metro line #2).
