Huangpu River in Shanghai

The Huangpu River is the economically and historically important river that meanders through Shanghai China.  Many of the goods shipped from China pass along this mighty river.

The Suzhou Creek, another important Chinese waterway, flows into the Huangpu at the south end of the Bund.

Visitors to Shanghai China can enjoy a riverboat cruise along the Bund.  Longer duration tours travel to the mouth of the river where the Huangpu converges with the Yangtze River.

There are beautiful pedestrian walkways on either side of the river in central Shanghai.
